Webinars: Inclusive Evaluation Redefined: Role of Participatory Tools, AI, & Institutionalizing M&E in advancing Social Impact
A three-part series during gLocal Evaluation Week 2025
Dear readers,
We at 4th Wheel Social Impact are excited to invite you to a special three-part series as part of this gLocal Evaluation Week (June 4–6, 2025). The series will explore how evaluation can become more inclusive and future-ready, covering participatory approaches that center community voices, the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in enhancing monitoring and evaluation (M&E) processes, and strategies for institutionalizing robust evaluation systems within organizations.
About gLOCAL Evaluation Week, gLOCAL Evaluation Week is a global knowledge-sharing event that connects evaluators, development practitioners, and changemakers to share insights and foster learning. The 2025 edition, taking place from June 2–6, centers on the theme “Evaluation for a Better Future: Environmental Sustainability, Inclusion, and Peace.”
Session 1: Participatory M&E Tools for Sustainable and Inclusive Development
🗓️ Wednesday, June 4 | 🕑 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM IST
This session will explore the limitations of traditional evaluation tools, which often overlook the nuanced impacts of development initiatives, particularly in sustainability and inclusion. By sharing the examples of participatory M&E and research tools, we'll uncover how directly engaging communities can yield deeper insights, ensuring that interventions are genuinely aligned with the actual needs and priorities of those they aim to serve. The session will be delivered bilingually – in English and Hindi.
Session 2: Leveraging AI for Advancing Social Impact: Practical Examples and Application from India
🗓️ Thursday, June 5 | 🕑 2:00 PM – 3:30 PM IST
This session will explore the transformative role of artificial intelligence in advancing social impact outcomes in India. We'll examine risks, opportunities, practical applications, through case studies from India. We’ll discuss how AI can enhance participatory processes and account for ethical considerations to ensure responsible and effective integration while working with communities and for M&E practices.
Session 3: Building Strong Foundations: Institutionalizing M&E Systems for Impact for future needs
🗓️ Friday, June 6 | 🕑 2:00 PM – 3:30 PM IST
This session designed as an interactive workshop, will guide participants through practical steps to embed M&E into the core of their organizations. Going beyond one-off project evaluations, it will cover key elements of institutionalizing M&E — from aligning goals and outcomes, to designing lean indicators, building robust data systems, and applying findings for strategic decision-making. The session includes a pre-workshop reflection toolkit and creates space for peer learning and collaborative discussion.
This series is intended for M&E professionals, development practitioners, researchers, NGOs, CSR teams, and others engaged in advancing inclusive and effective evaluation. We encourage participants to attend all three sessions to gain a comprehensive and immersive understanding across participatory methods, technological tools, and institutional approaches.
