4th Wheel Social Impact is running its one-day Social Impact Management and Measurement training in Ahmedabad on Thursday, 22 October 2026, 9am to 5pm, at the Ahmedabad Management Association.
Our last mailer covered what the day contains. This one is about who is running it, because for a one-day training that matters more than the agenda.
Who is leading the day:
Sharon Weir co-founded 4th Wheel in 2010 and leads our research and strategy work. Since then she has led more than 100 evaluations across education, health, livelihoods, WASH, women’s empowerment and corporate sustainability, for clients ranging from small NGOs to state governments, corporates and multilaterals.
She holds an MSc in Development Studies from SOAS, University of London. Most of what she teaches on 22 October, though, comes from the other half of the job: designing the tools, sitting through the field debriefs, and defending the findings in the room where the decisions get made.
What she takes you through
Problem analysis and theory of change
Building the logic backwards from the outcomes you are accountable for, instead of forwards from your activities.
Indicators that hold up
Turning “improved awareness” into something you can actually measure, and mapping it to the frameworks your funders ask about.
Data collection and quality
The collection plan, what your field team needs in hand, and where data quality is won or lost.
Analysis and reporting
Cleaning and coding routines, choosing between qualitative and quantitative approaches, and deciding what belongs in a chart, a story, or nowhere at all.
What you leave with
Twenty completed worksheets, filled in against your own programme rather than a case study, and a written MEAL action plan in your own words. Not our slides.
Practical details
Thursday, 22 October 2026, 9am to 5pm, at the Ahmedabad Management Association. Built for MEAL and programme staff at NGOs, CSR and foundation teams, consultants, researchers and students.
P.S. Bringing your team? Every third seat is half price. And if you are a grassroots organisation in Gujarat, write to us at hello@the4thwheel.com — we have kept an additional discount for you.
